_ English Mastiffs & Black Labrador Retrievers
who are a big part of our family.
We are not a big kennel, but a home that loves the
English Mastiff & Labrador Retriever Breeds.
They are raised as if they are one of our Children with lots of love and respect. We love to take them for walks
and car rides. They like to meet people just to show
them how sweet and soft they really are.
Because we raise them as part of the family, they eat and sleep in the house and are always interacting with someone in the family or a neighbour.
These are not outdoor dogs; but, caring companions who truly love to be with their people.
Our English Mastiffs range between 150lbs - 200 plus pounds of pure love.
They are very happy, outgoing, and love to be with people. As well as play with other dogs
or cats if allowed. I have been told that they are just big goof balls, who love to joke around and have fun. Yes I said joke around I swear I have seen them smile or heard them giggle after tripping you as you walk by or bark when you're not expecting it. .I have not found anyone who could not resist a photo or a cuddle. I have also found kids love to read
to them or just curl up with the Mastiffs for a nap.
Our Labradors are as solid as they come. Our Raven is 75 pounds of pure happiness
with her tail a wagging ready to go and do things with her people or play
out in the backyard with the kids. Seal & Shady are just as outgoing and happy as their
mother Raven is and they are always more then happy to put a smile on your face.
We firmly believe in breeding great quality with great attitude. Health, temperament, and conformation are important to us. We test all our dogs before they enter our breeding program, as testing is a good tool to see what each dog has or doesn't have. Testing results can be seen on their individual pages. Some of the testing is recorded on the OFA website (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals). Where it says ""name," put in "Lizona" and it will show all our dogs that we have done testing on and their results. OFA doesn't record all forms of test results.
We have achieved a lot of our goals we have set for ourselves over the last years and have had some great surprises along the way as far as having top show dogs in Canada two years in a
row 2007 & 2008 plus the number 1 male mastiff puppy in Canada for 2011.
Before starting my own blood line, and that is always a work in progress no matter what.
I have put the Championship title on 7 mastiffs and helped other mastiff people with their dogs and helped show other breeds as well. We have also meet some great handlers along the way.
Currently we have 6 Canadian Champions to our name (Libby, Lia, Cole, Lyric, Seal & Jet) & some others (Ben & Diva) working toward that goal. We have meet some great people, families along the way in this journey and hope to meet a lot more great people to add to our group. We have also finding out that mastiffs are like potato chips you just can't stop at one.
Our mastiffs have earned their championships as young as 9 & 13 months of age.
We also have taken part in the Canine Good Neighbour Test. We believe it's a good test & currently have two mastiffs with CGN titles at the end of their Lizona kennel name.
Naturally, we truly feel English Mastiffs & Labrador Retrievers should live with their
people and be a part of every day pack life.
Junior handling rings are just one of the venues we attend with our dogs, so you may see us there!
Glad you're visiting today and do enjoy getting to know us!
Below are some fun photos of our gang and then some!
